Professional Experience

Current Position:

I began as the Library Media Specialist at Catalayah the day it opened. I feel very priviledged to be here and I am so proud of the things we have accomplished at Catalayah since it was established in 2010.

Previous Position:

I began my teaching career in 1996. I taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and worked as a Reading Specialist at Claremont Elementary until 2009. I was at Claremont for 14 years before coming to Catalayah. I received my masters in Reading in 2003. I received my National Board Certification in 2006.

I love reading and children's books! I hope to foster the love of reading in all students who come into the library at Catalayah.

Family Information

I have been married to my husband Tony for 28 years. We have 3 sons. Two of my sons have graduated from college. One from Oklahoma Universary (Boomer Sooner!) and the other from Oklahoma State Universary. My third son is finishing his college career at Rogers State University.

I absolutely LOVE all animals! I have 3 dogs and one cat. I cannot imagine my life without them all!

Personal Information

Family time is most important to me. My hobbies include any activities that involve getting family members together. I come from a very large family who loves to find things to do that involves us all. We love to travel, watch sports, go hiking and camping, and have cookouts. I also love to read, take my dogs for walks, spend time with my friends, and enjoy community activities.
