Professional Experience

Current Position:

This is my 3rd year to teach 1st grade at Catalayah Elementary.  I am so blessed to work with amazing educators that inspire and motivate daily.  We have wonderful parents and sensational students. 

Previous Position:

I have been teaching for twenty years.  I began teaching 1st grade for Tulsa Public Schools in 1994.  In 1998 I started teaching 2nd grade for Broken Arrow Public Schools.  After moving to Skiatook in 2000, I started teaching 2nd grade for Skiatook Public Schools.  We moved to Claremore in 2008 where I taught 1st grade at Claremont Elemenatry

Family Information

My husband, Jarrett Hurt, and I have been married for 17 years.  He is an assistant principal at Claremore High School as well as the defensive coordinator for the Zebra high school football team.  We have two girls, Jayla and Jarreka.  Jayla is in the 7th grade at Will Rogers Junior High.  Jarreka is a 5th grader here at Catalayah.  We have two beagles named Zayne and Zoey.

Personal Information

I am passionate about my faith, family, first grade, and football.  I am very involved at First Baptist Church.  My family and I enjoy attending sporting events, cheering on the Sooners, and going to Branson.  I love reading, teaching, and scrapbooking.
